Mono Icono Graphie is a large-format monograph that spans more than thirty years of Delphine Coindet‘s career, a French artist known for a practice that crosses sculpture, installation, image, and text in a single visual language. Coindet has developed a body of work characterized by the play of forms, materials, and colors, as well as the exploration of elements that interact with space, perception, and image construction.
Published by Les presses du réel, the book offers a critical and visual journey through the artist’s production. The main challenge was to translate the chromatic richness and diversity of the work into a printed medium without losing intensity or nuance. Therefore, multicolor printing technology was chosen, expanding the usual CMYK spectrum and enabling deeper, more vivid reproductions. At Nexe, we coordinated the work with Les Caméléons Artisans de l’Image in Paris, responsible for the prepress, and with the workshop of Agpograf Impressors, to adjust each book section to the most suitable color treatment.
The volume has 416 interior pages in Munken Lynx 120 g and covers in Munken Lynx 300 g from Munken Paper (Arctic Paper). The covers are printed in 7/0 multicolor, while the interior combines different configurations —7/7, 7/4, 7/6, and CMYK— depending on the needs of each image block. The Otabind binding with flaps ensures a flat and comfortable opening. A project where printing technology and editing are crucial to meet the visual universe standards of the artist.
