The final artwork is delivered in pdf format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and at actual size. The pdf has to contain a page with the graphic design, and another one with the areas selected to apply the digital varnish, outlining the area and naming that layer as “Varnish” to identify it correctly. A margin of at least 3 mm must be respected from the cutting edge and from the folds without application of varnish. Remember to point out the cutting guidelines.
It is advisable to use the registration marks to ensure that they exactly match the areas of the design you wish to cover with the varnish layer. For a better finish, it is recommended to apply on dark surfaces. It is mandatory to apply matte plasticization on parts with a digital varnish finish. In addition, the application of the varnish in folds or crevices should be avoided, otherwise it could come off due to the pressure exerted.
For application in typographies or lines, it must be taken into account that the line must have a minimum of 0.5 mm in 3D and 0.25 mm in 2D; and in openwork 1 mm in 3D and 0.5 mm in 2D.
