The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN) in Paris publishes Savanturières: Une histoire naturelle au féminin, a book dedicated to recovering the trajectory of women scientists who have contributed to the knowledge of the natural world. The volume gathers stories of research, exploration and discovery led by female researchers from different periods, with the aim of highlighting their role within the history of science.
The design of the publication was developed by We-We Studio, a Paris-based studio specialized in cultural and editorial projects. The illustrations are the work of Claire Martha, who accompanies the texts with a graphic language that reinforces the pedagogical and narrative character of the book.
At Nexe Impressions we managed the production of the book, with 304 pages printed on Arena White Rough, Woodstock Cipria endpapers and a covered case with Imitlin Pink Sand Fiandra, all from Fedrigoni Paper. The book is printed using conventional offset printing, with an acrylic varnish on the cover wrap. The book is bound in sewn hardcover with a flat spine and headbands, and is completed with KURZ stamping applied on the cover, the spine and the back cover.
