City Stories

The City Stories collection by BYREDO brings the creative universe of the Swedish brand into the publishing world through a series of guides dedicated to major international cities. The initiative is part of the brand’s strategy, following its integration into the Puig Group in 2022, to explore new forms of storytelling connected to the places, people and experiences that inspire its fragrances. Each volume offers a personal perspective on a city, moving away from conventional tourist formats and focusing instead on culture, architecture, gastronomy and everyday life.

The collection builds a portrait of each city through interviews with creators, artists and other figures connected to its cultural scene, who share places, addresses and personal recommendations. The guides are shaped through the photography of Marc Shelly, who captures hidden corners, architecture and everyday moments, and the illustrations of Yi-Chin Lai, created specifically for each edition. Conceived as pocket guides, the publications invite readers to discover cities from a local and personal perspective, far removed from the usual tourist routes.

At Nexe Impressions, we oversee the production of this editorial project. The publications feature a cloth-covered hardcover binding, with 2 mm board, a flat spine and headbands. The cover material uses Brillianta cloth from Winter & Company, in a different colour for each city. The interior is printed in four-colour process on Arena Natural Bulk paper from Fedrigoni Paper, with endpapers in Malmero Craie from myCordenons Paper. The cover is completed with white and black foil stamping and a blind debossed impression into which an inset printed on Arena White Rough by Fedrigoni Paper is applied.
