The meeting between painter Roger Cosme Estève and Parisian writer Didier Goupil in the year 2000 marked the beginning of an intense and fertile collaboration. One of the results of this symbiosis is La Fleur du Peintre, a new publication that brilliantly reflects this ongoing and intimate dialogue maintained over time.
Born in Néfiach, in the Eastern Pyrenees, Roger Cosme Estève is, above all, Catalan. Nevertheless, he did not hesitate to “go elsewhere to see what was happening.” After spending time in Montreal, Oualidia, and Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, he currently lives in Tarn, where this itinerant painter continues to practice his art with the same delicacy.
Edicions Paraules publishes the book as part of the CAPSES collection. The publication, produced and designed by Esteve Sabench, includes reproductions of the painter’s works photographed by Jean-Luc Respaut and accompanied by the writer’s text. Each copy includes a folder with three original works by the Catalan painter.
Printing and binding are carried out by Nexe Impressions. The book uses various high-quality papers from Fedrigoni Paper. It contains 32 folded sheets in diptych format and two fold-out inserts. The set is completed with two folders and a Japanese-style sewn binding.
