Happy Victims is the reissue of the photographic project by Japanese photographer Kyoichi Tsuzuki, originally published between 1999 and 2006 in the magazine Ryuko Tsushin. The series portrays Tokyo fashion collectors in modest spaces, showcasing the passion and extreme dedication behind their clothing collections.
This new edition, published by Apartamento, includes an updated foreword by Tsuzuki himself and an introduction by Isabella Burley, founder of Climax Books. In collaboration with designer Han Gao, this reissue updates the cover and the belly band. The interior retains a simple, documentary-style format, with one “happy victim” per page, photographed by Tsuzuki and accompanied by a brief description of their daily schedule.
The production was carried out in collaboration with Agpograf Impressors. The catalogue consists of 184 pages printed on Novatech Gloss and endpapers made of silver Majestic Luxus Real Silver paper. It features a hardcover binding covered with Geltex Blanco Nieve Liso from Guarro Casas, with printing that combines four-colour process and two PANTONE inks: metallic silver (Silver 10077) and fluorescent pink (806C). The book comes with a dust jacket with flaps and a belly band, both printed in 6 colours and finished with a glossy P.P. lamination.
