Les sons du papier

Les sons du papier is a publication by Éditions de la Philharmonie, part of the youth collection of the Philharmonie des enfants. Created by Laura Cattabianchi and Lilli Lacombe, the project explores the sonic possibilities of paper through touch and different gestures: crumpling, tapping, stroking or tearing each material produces different sounds. The book thus takes the form of an experience in which listening, movement and imagination are closely connected.

One of the edition’s highlights is its tactile and accessible dimension. The content incorporates Braille writing, which also enables reading through touch and reinforces the physical relationship with the paper. The work was published with the support of the Fondation VISIO, dedicated to facilitating access to culture for people with visual impairments.

The publication is printed using two PANTONE inks, Blue 072 U and Yellow U, on an Invercote G cover from Holmen, with an interior and pocket in offset paper. The publication is bound in leporello format and features a special Braille embossing on both the cover and interior, a particularly distinctive finish due to its technical complexity. The cover is completed with a silk acrylic varnish, while a triangular pocket is glued to the back endpaper.
