À la rencontre du vivant is a children’s book published by the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, designed to bring scientific knowledge and the natural world closer to young readers. The illustrated book offers a visual and educational journey through biodiversity and the forms of life that inhabit our planet.
The publication is authored by Hélène Rajcak and Damien Laverdunt, a duo frequently involved in editorial projects related to nature and science. Their work is distinguished by the ability to translate complex scientific content into accessible imagery and visual narratives aimed at children. With this book, the museum strengthens its line of educational publications dedicated to scientific outreach.
At Nexe Impressions, we managed the production of the volume, with interiors printed on Arena White Rough paper, the endpapers on Nettuno Carruba, and the cover lined with Imitlin Neve Flat, all papers from Fedrigoni Paper. The cover lining is printed in four-color process, while the interior printing includes a fifth Pantone ink to enhance the chromatic richness of the illustrations. The binding is a sewn hardcover with 2 mm board, a square spine, and brown headbands. The cover is finished with an anti-scratch lamination and a 15% gloss spot UV varnish that highlights the book title and the museum logo.
